ABOUT
THROUGH MY EYES
AUSTIN P. TAYLOR JR.
PHOTOGORAPHER
“If a picture is worth a thousand words, then learning to capture memories on film is priceless”.
I
received
my
first
camera,
a
SLR
Konica
on
my
13th
birthday.
With
this
camera,
I
learned
how
rewarding
photography
was
(and
still
is).
I
fell
in
love
with
nature
and
different
landscapes,
and
I
tried
to
show
this
newfound
love
through
my
lens.
I
quickly
became
interested
in
photographing birds. I still have the photos from my first shoot. Great memories.
I
then
discovered
astronomy
through
a
neighbor.
I
recall
how
I
was
always
looking
out
for
him
to
bring
out
his
telescope,
so
we
could
see
the
stars.
He
also
gave
me
my
first
astronomy
magazine,
that
had
photos
of
the
moon,
planets,
sun,
and
galaxies.
I
bought
my
first
telescope
at
the
age
of
16.
Then,
I
studied
photography
at
my
local
community
college.
My
professor
studied
under
Ansel
Adams.
He
often
showed
us
photographs
he
obtained
from
Ansel
Adams.
It
was
amazing.
The
black
and
whites
were
truly
beautiful.
That
was
when
I
became
obsessed
with
black
and
white
photography.
Up
until
then
I
had
shot
film
for
over
forty
years,
however,
that
changed
when
my
brother
introduced
me
to
my
first
digital
camara-
a
Nikon
D70.
With
this,
came
the
instant
gratification
of
seeing
my
photos,
and
a
new
convenience
which
film
does
not
offer.
I
have
grown
to
love
photography,
and
its
different
aspects
throughout
my
life.
I
do
it
for
fun,
art,
and
family.
Please
enjoy
my
photos
through my eyes.
